4.1. How to make a test call?
You can call to Digium company: "guest@misery.digium.com/s". You should hear female voice informing about successfully connection.
In case of problems try that "number" with other IAX client (for eample iaxComm), to exclude their problems.
4.2. How can I talk with other people?
You have several ways to do it.
- Direct connection. Two people start VoIP programs and one of them call to another using their IP as a number. For example: "192.168.0.1". This method can be used for tests.
- Asterisk server. Thanks to Digium company and its open source PBX - Asterisk, it's possible to be a telephony provider. You can set accounts for many people and comfortable call each other. What is more, using Asterisk allows to talk with people with SIP, H.323, MGCP and of course native IAX.
- Telephony providers. There are many providers offer free accounts and free calls inside network. With a little fee it's also possible to make calls to PSTN. For details see points 4.2 and 4.3.

- Siec T2 - second counting in PSTN and (what is more important) free internal number - you can talk with other people with account in T2 for free!
- Tlenofon - cheap PSTN calls; unfortunately without ability to talk inside network for free
